Easy Soy Glazed Green Beans
A flavorful savory green bean side dish with garlic and soy sauce in under 30 minutes.
Servings: 4 people
Ingredients
- 1 pound green beans ends trimmed
- 1 tablespoon vegetable or canola oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- ⅛ cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
- black pepper optional
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and season with salt. Add the green beans and blanch until crisp-tender, about 2-3 minutes. Transfer to an ice bath to stop the cooking and drain well.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the oil and butter. When the butter is melted, add the garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the green beans, soy sauce, and sesame seeds. Sauté until the sauce reduces slightly and coats the green beans. Be careful not to overcook the green beans. Finish with ground black pepper if using.
- Serve immediately or transfer to a serving dish to keep warm.
