Pao’s Donuts & Coffee Shop is a family-owned business located in Tacoma just off of a main street. The exterior and interior offer a bit of nostalgia, as does their pricing, and their donuts are excellent.

Pao’s Donuts comes highly rated on Google and we decided to make a stop since we were passing through the area. Their shop is very unassuming and comes with a drive-thru where you can conveniently make your order. I asked for their 6 most popular donuts and came away with a pleasant variety which included a maple bar, Bavarian cream, two glazed yeast donuts, and two glazed old fashioned donuts.
The highlight were the yeast donuts. Light and fluffy, I found the rise on them to be really impressive and the picture does not do it justice.
Both the yeast and the old fashioned were exactly what you expect from very good classic donuts. If you’re in the area, need a donut, then make the stop at Pao’s. They only accept cash so go prepared!
