Advertised as “no ordinary steakhouse”, Asadero Prime has locations in Kent and Ballard and boasts high heat cooking methods. The Mexican influence is the star on a menu highlighted by tacos, small plates, and, of course, steak sizzling to perfection.

For an appetizer, I split a plate of Molletes with the group. The toasted sourdough bread with the smooth bean spread, melty cheese, and flavorful pico de gallo topping was fresh and delicious. It was lighter and cooler than I expected.
I ordered the Prime Ensalada for my main dish. A crispy bed of spring mix topped with cotija cheese, red onion, tomatoes, and almonds, the star of the plate was the Wagyu Vacio steak. Cooked medium, the steak was chewy and warm- a perfect compliment to the salad.
Lastly, the dessert was a slice of cheesecake with a soft, thin crust and fresh strawberries and blueberries. I prefer a more thick and crispy crust but the cheesecake was still a tasty way to end the meal.

This place is such a hidden gem in Kent! The smell of beef welcomes you in as you catch sight of all the steaks cooking and the occasional giant baked potato in front of the patrons around you.
I highly recommend going for your own steak and ordering some corn tortillas and house guacamole (served with tostadas and bread) to make the most luxurious tacos you’ve ever had. The salsas are freshly made and I especially enjoyed their pico de gallo.
I love the way they serve the steak here on a sizzling hot stone with salt, herb oil, and a variety of house-made salsas to try. It’s like having a 5-course meal with all the different ways you can enjoy your cut.
For dessert I’ve tried their flan flight – traditional, corn, and chocolate and the corn was definitely an interesting one! The arroz con leche has a familiar sweetness, but all-in-all I’d skip the dessert and save your stomach for the main course which is rare for me!

Don’t let the fact that this is a steakhouse dissuade you if you’re not a fan of beef. There are other non-beef offerings on the menu that are tasty and worth a try.
I ordered the grilled salmon which was cooked nicely and seasoned well. My favorite thing on the plate might have been the grilled broccolini. The char on the vegetables were so flavorful!
There is also a loaded baked potato which sounds very pedestrian, but Asadero Prime isn’t messing around. To start, it’s one of the largest potatoes I’ve ever seen. Then it’s generously covered in cheese, bacon, and sour cream.
I agree with Momo about the desserts. You could definitely sample and fill up on their other menu items where you won’t even be thinking about dessert.
