New York, NY
Located in the Upper West Side neighborhood of Manhattan, Délice Macarons is accurately advertised as “Your French corner in the UWS”. They specialize in French pastry and macarons with their chef and co-owner training under some of the very best Parisian chefs.
I was on a mission: macarons! We tried the blueberry, lavender, pistachio, hazelnut chocolate, rose lychee, mango passion, Earl Grey tea, and chocolate. My favorite flavors were the lavender, rose lychee, and Earl Grey tea. They were herbal and floral without being too much. My partner, who likes everything chocolate, said the hazelnut chocolate was the top choice.
Recommended as one of their specialties, we tried the Délice roll. Made from laminated croissant dough and filled with chocolate mousse it was a buttery, flaky, creamy chocolate delight. As a testament to how good their dough is, it was impossible to eat without getting crunchy croissant crumbs everywhere!
Lastly, we sampled one of their brightly colored Easter pastries. It was a fun, dyed sponge cake shaped egg filled with rich milk chocolate pudding. The cake was airy and lightly sweetened to balance the filling.
All of the pastry looked fantastic and I wish I could have sampled it all. Next time! Until then, Délice Macarons will ship their macarons nationwide from their NYC location.
