Di Fara Pizza

05/09/2024 by Ume

New York, NY

Established in 1965, Di Fara Pizza is one of the best pizzerias in the city. Until his passing, each pizza was handcrafted by Dom De Marco. This legacy continues through the family owned and operated business.

Di Fara has a few locations around the city where you can enjoy a slice or a full fresh made to order pie. They also ship nationwide through Gold Belly.

Di Fara offers classic to white sauce to an artichoke and eggplant pizza. We always get the Margherita which is a tomato sauce base topped with fresh mozzarella and basil and finished with olive oil.

Let’s talk about New York pizza sauce which just hits different than other sauces. Is it the water? The ingredients? The family recipe? I can’t say for sure, but Di Fara produces a bright, flavorful, tomato base that really makes the pizza incredibly delicious. Paired with their crust that is crispy and chewy, it’s so easy to eat more than one slice. Since we don’t have New York style pizza in our area, my partner ate 6 slices since it was just that good.
