Located in Lower Manhattan, Takahachi Bakery offers Japanese pastries, breads, and cakes, as well as espresso drinks. They are known for delicious Matcha pastry and they regularly sell out of their swiss roll sponge cake.
We bought a full mango passionfruit cheesecake to share with family and it was delicious. The cheese mousse had an intense mango and passionfruit flavor and paired well with the buttery, graham cracker crust. It was crumbly without falling apart completely.
We also tried a Matcha lemon melon bread, ham and cheese bun, guava bun, and chocolate roll. The Matcha lemon melon bread ended up being my favorite item. The craquelin was so good and complemented the internal layer of lemon curd. I loved this bread so much that I wished I had bought more.
