Tat’s Delicatessen

Seattle, WA

Tat’s Deli is located in the historic Pioneer Square neighborhood in downtown Seattle, in a classic brick building.  An East coast style deli, they serve up sandwiches, soups, salads, and breakfast foods to patrons in the area.  They have online ordering, and a surprisingly spacious indoor seating to accommodate their large lunch crowds.

Tat’s is known for cheesesteaks, but perhaps even more for their trademark Tat’strami sub.  Choose between an 8” and 12” roll, and enjoy the salty, slightly sweet, savory joy that is house made pastrami, melted swiss, Russian dressing, and coleslaw, on their signature to-die-for Italian roll.  It’s rich and filling, and a must try if you are only able to visit the shop once.  If pastrami is not your favorite meat, they also have a turkey version!

Their regular cheesesteaks can be customized with your choice of beef or chicken, toppings, condiments, and cheese, Cheez Whiz IS an option, cooked to order.  Don’t worry if cheesesteaks aren’t your favorite, they have lots of options!

My particular favorites are the crispy chicken sub with chicken strips (they can also do a crispy chicken salad!), which you can get buffalo style, and their hot turkey, particularly delicious on a cool day.  They also have plenty of cold cut subs.  I haven’t tried the breakfast foods, but given how delicious their subs are I wouldn’t expect anything less than tasty.  With sides like fries, chili, or macaroni salad, and a full drink cooler, you can build a meal for any size of appetite.  If you’re trekking around Seattle and getting hungry, it’s the perfect spot to grab a filling bite and recharge!

Tasty Tip: Add a splash of Tapatio to your Tat’strami for an extra punch of flavor!
